HMV organises Annual Prize Distribution Function

Jalandhar, February 12, 2014: Annual Prize Distribution Function was organised in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya on Wednesday. SS Maluka, Minister for Education, Punjab was the chief guest.
HR Gandhar, Advisor to President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi and Gurcharan Singh Channi, Chairman, District Planning board were the Guests of Honour.  
The function began with a prayer to the Almighty seeking His blessings.  Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj gave a floral welcome to the guests.  She also read out the Annual Report of the current session focusing on the remarkable highlights and achievements of the institution.  
The prize winners were duly honoured for their achievements.  62 students were given Gold Medals & 33 were awarded Silver Medals.  180 Academic Trophies and 80 Co-curricular Trophies were also given.  Prizes were given to 300 students for their academic and co-curricular achievements.  
Maluka pinpointed the need of commitment and dedication to reach the pinnacle of glory.  He focused on the need to eradicate the prevalent evils like drug addiction which are eating into the very fabric of the state.  He has announced a grant of Rs.3.00 lacs to the college.  
In his address, H.R. Gandhar described the institution as one of the best.  He gave the message of constructive work and positive thinking.  He emphasised on the role of the teacher in refining minds, character building and spotting talents and added that value based education focusing on truth, love, justice and freedom can create an ideal social set up.
