Ludhiana, April 14, 2013: Surjit Singh from Ferozepur (72) was honoured at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Jamalpur, Ludhiana, on Saturday.
Surjit Singh was honoured on his return after spending three decades in a Pakistani jail.
As per the available information, Surjit Singh was jailed on the charges of intelligence in Pakistan.
Singh has served the BSF.
He was imprisoned in Central Jail, Lahore.
Initially, Singh wassentenced to death. Later, the jail superintendent appealed to the authorities concerned to commute his death sentence.
Sharing his experiences, he told that he spent most of the time in reading.
