Chandigarh, April 13, 2013: Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue and Public Relations Minister, Punjab today felicitated the people of Punjab on the 122nd birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, father of Indian Constitution.
In a message, Majithia said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, popularly also known as Baba Saheb, was a great social revolutionary of great vision, legal luminary of great acumen besides philosopher, economist, orator and champion of Human Rights.
Majithia said that Dr. Ambedkar fought for the cause of deprived sections of the society to eliminate caste and other discriminations and their exploitations. He said that Baba Saheb had prepared an exemplary text provided constitutional guarantees and protections for a wide range of civil liberties for individual citizens including freedom of religion, the abolition of untouchability besides extensively arguing for economic and social rights to women.
Majithia said that on this day we all should take a pledge to fulfill the dreams of Baba Saheb by constructing a healthy society.
