Ludhiana, April 5, 2013: To Increase the competitiveness of Micro and Small Units of Printing and Packaging Cluster, Ludhiana, maiden trust building meeting held at Punjab Trade Centre.
Trust Building Meeting is the Part of Soft Interventions sanctioned under MSE-CDP by Development Commissioner, Micro Small Medium Enterprises (Govt. of India ) in which Udyog Sahayak ,Department of Industries and Commerce, Punjab is an implementing agency.
Industrial Association - Offset Printers' Association, Ludhiana and DIC, Ludhiana organised this Trust Building. The main purpose of this meeting was to to enhance trust building among the printers of Ludhiana for better workability.
Sukhminder Singh Rekhi, Senior Industrial Promotion Officer from the office of General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ludhiana was the host for this trust building seminar.
OPA executive team alongwith other printers from Ludhiana joined this seminar. All the members were welcomed by the OPA's Secretary Gagandeep Singh. Kamal Chopra, General Secretary (OPA, Ludhiana) in his address to the members said that they need to work jointly to enable themselves to stay in global competition. “We will be facing more competition in coming future as after the approval of FDI by Govt. of India, more and more global printing companies are looking to invest in India which will take the competition to more greater heights from now”, he said. He added working in cluster is the only solution for small and medium enterprises to tackle this situation in a better and efficient way.
Sukhminder Singh Rekhi said that everyone who belongs to the printing industry is a members of cluster and is eligible to use the facilities provided. He added that Government is ready to provide the funds to facilitate the industry in all ways possible but we have to make maximum use of those funds & opportunities created by the Govt. Of India. He also stressed that we should keep enough faith in each other so that operations in making of CFC in Ludhiana completes quickly and ensures its smooth working after installation of machines and infrastructure. He added that we should also educate the fellow printers who are still not aware about the cluster system which is the need of today so that they can understand its concept and workability and join hands with us for the better future of printing industry.
Various entrepreneurs of printing units present in the seminar shared their views about the cluster development and their observations of the complete action which is being taken by the OPA and GM, DIC, Ludhiana jointly to form the CFC.
Charanjeet Singh Anand from Ludhiana Printers Association also participated in the meeting and shared views.
Kamal Chopra speaking on this seminar also provided the complete details of soft intervention for this project. He informed the printers about website, trust building seminars, training seminars to be conducted in the coming months during the soft intervention for CFC. He also thanked the MSME Department Which extended full support during the seminar and the CFC process.
Rekhi also assured the OPA to provide help and education in all manners for the good of printing industry.
