Jalandhar, April 1, 2013: SanjaySehgal, Advisor Member to Grievances and RTI Cell Punjab Congress Committee (PPCC), has raised question mark over the high security being provided to social activist Anna Hazare by Punjab government during his ongoing `Jantantra Yatra’.
In a statement here, he said the state government had provided VVIP security to Hazare. Besides security personnel, ambulances and fire tenders were also put to Hazare’s disposal, he added. He strongly believed that The Hazare’s `Jantantra Yatra’ was putting acute economic burden on Punjab.
He asked if social activist like Anna Hazare would be given such a high security then what would be the fate of a common man.
Further, Sehgal said on the other hand, Hazare was keeping silence over the law and order situation and protection of women in Punjab. He added the law and order situation in the state was deteriorating and even women were unsafe about which media was giving extensive coverage on routine basis.
