GENERAL Orientation Course concluded at GNDU

Amritsar, March 26, 2013: A “28-Day General Orientation Course-90” concluded here today in the Academic Staff College of the Guru Nanak Dev University. As many as 32 teachers from various parts of the country participated in this course.

Prof. A.K. Thukral, Director Research was the Chief Guest at the valedictory session and  talked about the duties, responsibilities of the teachers towards the nation building. He said that teaching is considered as the noblest and the most revered profession all over the world. Of late this profession is losing its respect in our society, he said. He held the teaching community responsible for such a sorry state of affairs. He asked the teachers to introspect themselves and to make necessary amendments.

He lamented the declining quality of teaching right from the primary education to the higher education. He exhorted the teachers to act as role models for the society in order to take this nation forward in all respects.

Earlier Prof. T. S. Banipal Director welcomed the Chief Guest and spoke about the usefulness of such courses for the overall betterment of the teachers. He hoped that the knowledge gained by the participants during these days will definitely help them to become better teachers. In the end, the certificates were given away to the participants. Dr Mohan Kumar, Deputy Director proposed the vote of thanks.
