Nawan Shahar, April 21, 2014: The Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance candidate from Anandpur Sahib, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, today called upon the lawyers’ fraternity to play a pioneering role in creating political awareness and mobilising people for the establishment of transparent, corruption free and accountable government
Highlighting salient features of the election manifesto of his party during interaction with the lawyers in the district court here, he said his talk was not merely an election address but expression of total commitment to them. He said preference would be given solving the problems of the Anandpur Sahib constituency.
Hammering communal amity and establishment of rule of law under the SAD-BJP government in Punjab, Prof. Chhandumajra said coming into power of Narendra Modi at the centre would lead to new openings for the development of this state. Anandpur Sahib would be developed as a religious tourism hub, he added.
Prof. Chandumajra said lawyers had a special place in society who play a crucial role in the establishment of rule of law. They were fully aware about the disastrous effect of the black money in the economy sourced from unprecedented scandals.
He reiterated that trade through Wagha Border with Pakistan would be liberalised which would give a big fillip to the industry here. He assured the lawyers that he would fully come up to their expectations.
