Manpreet Badal giving tough challenge to opponents in Bathinda: Bhattal

Former Punjab chief minister and Congress Campaign Committee chairperson Rajinder Kaur Bhattal addressing the media persons at Ludhiana on Sunday.

Ludhiana, April 20, 2014: Former Punjab chief minister and Congress Campaign Committee chairperson Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has claimed that Congress would achieve cent percent success in Lok Sabha elections in Punjab.
Addressing the media persons here on Sunday, she told that earlier they were observing tough fight in Bathinda Lok Sabha seat where PPP leader Manpreet Singh Badal was contesting on the Congress party's symbol. But with the passage of time the situation had improved there and Congress was giving a tough challenge to opponents .
To a question, she told that it was Manpreet to decide whether or not he had to join primary membership of Congress.
Congress had only extended support during elections to Manpreet, she said.
Bhattal told that the ruling SAD-BJP would be completed washed out after 2017 assembly elections and foundation for the same would be laid in Lok Sabha by winning all 13 seats in Punjab.
She said there was no Modi wave in Punjab.
Describing reasons for improving position of Congress in Punjab, she told that the ruling alliance in Punjab did not have any planning for minorities.
People of Punjab were completely fed-up with the functioning of the SAD-BJP in the last seven years, she said, adding people were now complete aware of the fact that leaders of the ruling alliance making fake promises.
She told that the SAD poll manifesto was empty.
Bhattal termed the SAD election manifesto as the photostat copy of "RSS Agenda".
She claimed, on the other hand, Congress' poll manifesto had a lot for every section of the society. The manifesto even promised to give employment to ten crore unemployed youths across the country.
She told that several senior Congress leaders, including the AICC president were arriving Punjab for addressing poll rallies.
She said Sonia Gandhi  was to address a poll rally on April 26 in Barnala.
Bhattal told that the AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi was also expected to address poll rallies in Punjab.
On being asked about the functioning of Election Commission in Punjab, she told that it did not seem to working in a fair manner.
She said Election Commission in Punjab was giving priority to SAD.
Bhattal claimed that they were getting their complaints redressed only after making complaints to ECI.
She said she had written to Punjab Election Commission, citing certain examples in this regard.
On being asked about the prevailing factionalism in DCC, Ludhiana, she told that it was not "factionalism", it was "competition".
Among others, DCC (U) president Pawan Dewan was present.
