Ludhiana, April 19, 2014: Teachers of government-aided schools have not received their salary for past seven months.

This has been stated in a statement here today by Davinder Rehan, press secretary of the Aided-School Employees’ Union.

He revealed that the staff of primary-aided schools last received their salaries in September last year.

Savinderjit Kaur, president of the Aided-School Teachers and Other Employees’ Union, said teachers of primary-aided schools in the district had been going without salaries for the past seven months.

Despite requests to the department and officials concerned, none of the employees had received any wages, added Kaur.

They added for the salaried class, April to June is a crucial period because during this period they get their wards admitted to educational institutes and need money for this purpose. To deny employees salary during these crucial months amounts to playing with careers of their wards.
