PCTE-IHM organises Chef Competition at Hospitality Olympics 2014

PCTE-IHM at Ludhiana on Wednesday organising Chef Competition at Hospitality Olympics 2014.

Ludhiana, February 12, 2014: PCTE Group of Institutes organised Bakery & Chef Competition at Hospitality Olympics 2014 at campus. In the competition 22 teams from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana, P.A.U Ludhiana, SSCMT, Amritsar, Doaba Institute Jalandhar and colleges under PCTE Group participated in the competition. They explored with exotic delicacies like Stuffed Tomatoes, Fruit Jelly, Poulet Roulade and Chocolate Muffins. Executive Chef Manvinder Singh and Chef Arif Vohra, from Hyatt Regency, Ludhiana were there to Judge the event.
Nikit Kapoor, Devansh Chadha & Sukhvir Singh, PCTE-IHM Team stood first in the Chef Competition whereas Ramandeep Kaur, Aatma Singh and Rohini Jain students from College of Home Science, PAU were declared Second Position.
Professors of Institutes of Hotel Management, PCTE Group of Institutes helped the students with their cooking and baking. The entire event was held in the Advance Kitchen of the Hotel Management College. The mega event was organised to showcase the diverse cuisines of world and it turned successful as huge participation was found.  “Cooking is my hobby and I am excited to make it my profession” said Julie, exchange student from France as she cooked various dishes from the French cuisine.   
Prof. Anirban Gupta, Director-IHM said “We want to spread awareness about cooking as a bright career; the demand of skilled chefs is increasing day by day”. Gupta praised all the participants and was very happy with the efforts students made.
Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the team of IHM and said that Hotel management course is the most practical course. He further said that such events will definitely help the students in exploring the culinary art.
