Chandigarh, February 9, 2014: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) reacted strongly to the derogatory, false, baseless and politically motivated statement issued by Punjab Congress Spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira against the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that repeated false statements of Khaira cannot absolve the Congress party of  its sins committed during operation Bluestar as well as in November 1984 during Sikh massacre.
Dr. Cheema asked Khaira that instead of seeking answers from democratic and secular leaders like Parkash Singh Badal who always advocated peace and communal harmony he should study deeply history and he will come to know that who backstabbed Punjab during critical times. “One side he himself is admitting that moderate leaders like Parkash Singh Badal and Surjit Singh Barnala were detained under NSA by none else but the Congress government led by Indira Gandhi and on the other hand he is trying to put blame  on the sufferers”, he added.
He also said that Khaira himself is admitting that censorship was imposed on media but he should also tell that who was responsible for gagging the media and why at the time of Operation Bluestar.
On the issue of Sikh army deserters still languishing in jails, Dr. Cheema asked Khaira that he should also make it clear that it was the Congress regime which has sent them to jails.
Advising Khaira to learn some basics of public life, Dr. Cheema said that the people of the country know the truth behind the Operation Bluestar and repeated false and misleading statements with cheap and dirty language cannot wash the blots from  the face of the Congress party. // punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news, world news,
