Bajwa asks Delhi voters to beware of unholy and opportunist alliance of SAD-BJP

Chandigarh/New Delhi, December 1, 2013: Partap Singh Bajwa, President, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) while addressing series of meetings in Kalkaji assembly constituency here cautioned the people of Delhi against the unholy and opportunistic alliance of SAD-BJP and appealed the voters of national capital to vote for Congress party for peace and development of city.
Bajwa said that people of Punjab had seen enough of SAD-BJP alliance which is responsible for denting the image of developed state of India. They have created such a mess that it would take decades to recover Punjab from the debt trap, unemployment, rule of mafia and lawlessness. He said that people of Delhi could not expect a different model of Governance than Punjab. He said that BJP was a total failure in protecting the rights of urban people who are heavily taxed and forced to live under pathetic civic conditions.
The people in Punjab were living under constant fear and threat. He said that drug menace created by SAD-BJP government in Punjab had ruined the youth of state and involvement of Akali leaders in drug manufacturing and smuggling has been beyond doubt.  The Akalis have become synonymous of crime and corruption, he alleged.
Bajwa said that Narendra Modi BJP’s candidate for Prime ministerial berth had no vision, no moral values and he is a serious threat for the civil society. He said that BJP was anti-minority party and Modi in particularly has hatred for the minorities. He said that that fascist forces were working behind the scene to capture the power and it is duty of people of Delhi to protect their freedom and dignity from falling in the cruel hands of fundamentalists.
He said that Congress party had in the last 15 years made Delhi a clean and green city. He said that development was not only limited to high rise buildings, bridges, metro and wider roads but the city has achieved international recognition in matter of clean and green environment. He said that Delhi has won UN Clean City Award for environment and the "Clean Cities International Award" from the US Department of Energy in 2003.
Bajwa said that healthy eco-system, cleaner air, less pollution were key parameters worldwide to gauze the environment of city. As per an international study conducted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and E3G, Delhi's conversion into CNG was declared as one of the top 10 policies in the world. Today Delhi has about 20,000 small, medium and big public parks and gardens, he stated.
Punjab Congress President said that Subhash Chopra Congress candidate from Kalkaji was sincere and time tested party leader. He said that Harmit Singh Kalka SAD candidate who is contesting on BJP symbol would only serve the vested interests of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal who is a business shark under the garb of politician.
Bajwa later in the evening also addressed meetings in Rajauri Garden and Hari Nagar assembly constituencies. Bajwa was accompanied by Raj Babbar Congress MP from Firozabad, PPCC General Secretary Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Rajinder Deepa, Anil Dutta, Kanwaljit Singh Lalli, Gurwinder Singh Mmanke, Varinder Sharma, Ramesh Singla, Gurwinder Singh Atwal, Gurjit Singh Aujla and Gurvinder Singh Rataul.
