Ludhiana, September 2, 2013: A large contingent of Aam Aadmi Party members and volunteers met Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi and assured him that they will campaign night and day for the Aam Aadmi candidates to ensure their victory in Delhi for the Assembly elections to be held in November this year.
Kejriwal was buoyed seeing the spirit of these Punjabis and gave the task of campaigning in 2 Constituencies in Delhi – Hari Nagar and Tilak Nagar which have a sizable Punjabi population- to the Punjab Team.
Kejriwal was also presented with a Pagri by the nephew of the martyr Bhagat Singh and a Kirpan along with a photo of the martyr Bhagat Singh. Kejriwal said that Punjab has always been at the forefront of every struggle in this country and with the turnout of such a huge support from Punjab, he is confident that Aam Aadmi Party will be able to root out corruption and provide a clean and fair governance to this country and the dream of “Swaraj” will become an actual reality for every person of this country.
Manish Sisodia, Suraj, Yogendra Yadav and Dr. Kumar Vishwas also addressed the gathering alongwith Jagdeep Singh and Jarnail Singh (the party candidates from Hari Nagar and Tilak Nagar constituencies).
According to Harjot Singh, Punjab State Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, “Aam Aadmi Party volunteers from Punjab have been actively campaigning for the last two months in Delhi with some of them being permanently stationed there till the Delhi Elections. We are pretty sure that with the sincere efforts of the “aam aadmi” this time, we will be able to weed out the corrupt elements that both Congress and BJP support. “
One cheque of Rs. 1 lakh and another of Rs. 72,000 were also presented as funds from the common people of Punjab for this worthwhile cause.
