Chandigarh, August 14, 2013: Punjab Congress today got another jolt in Moga District as its General Secretary Daljit Singh today joined Sharomani Akali Dal in the presence of Party President Sukhbir Singh Badal at Chandigarh. It may be mentioned that it’s the third jolt in series to Congress especially in Moga district in a week as earlier former MLA Ajit Singh Shant and former president of Mahila Congress Bibi Jasbir Kaur Samalsar joined SAD leaving Congress in Moga totally leaderless.
While joining the SAD under the leadership of Ranvinder Singh Ramoowala, Daljit Singh said that he has joined Akali Dal due to the pro poor policies of Akali Dal under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and visionary guidance of Sukhbir Singh Badal. They lamented that after working day and night for Congress Party in Moga from many years along with supporters, no one has given our due respect, and when we tried to raise our voice in front of senior leaders they got snubbed, he added.
Honouring the Congress workers with Siropa (Robe of Honour) Badal said that only Akali dal recognises its workers as they are the back bone of every party. He said that party could win 9 consecutive elections since Vidhan Sabha elections only because of workers. Calling them to work hard to ensure thumping win in ensuing Lok Sabha election from Moga area, Badal assured the newly joined leaders to give full respect in party.
Prominent amongst who joined SAD, included Sukhwinder Singh, Gursharan Kaur, Jasmail Singh, Surjit Singh, Rachpal Singh, Lakhbir Kaur, Nirbhai Singh, Jugraaj Singh, Iqbal Singh and Tirath Singh.
