Dharamsala, August 14, 2013: The District Kangra Unit of Himachal Lok Hit Party has condemned the irresponsible statement of the State BJP President Satpal Satti, in many vernacular dailies, in which he has defied all logical thinking and has put himself in the proverbial situation of foot in the mouth, by saying that if the Pavilion Hotel at the HPCA stadium at Dharamsala be demolished then the Vidhan Sabha at Sidhbari, too, should be brought down.
Vikram Chaudhary, District President Kangra (HILOPA) said in a statement on Wednesday here, “HILOPA has always maintained that the BJP has always been meting out a step motherly treatment to Kangra district whenever in power and this statement has further confirmed their stance towards Kangra district as the Vidhan Sabha building in question is situated at Sidhbari in Dharamshala in the kangra district.”
Choudhary further said, “A member of the Vidhan Sabha himself making such a statement of demolishing the very House that he belongs to is an irony to say the least. It is felt that in future he should be more careful when making a comment on anything. He does not seem to appreciate the fact that the Vidhan Sabha is a constitutional house, a revered place, and not a profit making endeavour as is the Pavilion Hotel of Himachal Pradesh Cricket association in Dharamsala.”
It may be added here that In Himachal Pradesh a tug of war has started between ruling Congress and opposition BJP on the HPCA land issue right before 2014 parliament elections. It seems in the coming election land allotted to the HPCA is going to be the major poll issue in this hill state. While Congress government has got a case registered against the HPCA headed by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, latter on his part is claiming political vendetta.
While State Vigilance Bureau registered a case against the HPCA on August 1, now Anurag Thakur has said that state vigilance bureau is presenting the HPCA land case as a big scam claiming that cricket association was converted into company. "We were forced to convert our association into company as in 2003 then Congress government headed by Virbhadra Singh had brought a sports bill to control the sports associations of state. We had registered the company under section 25 of the act in which only non-profit companies are registered. Even Delhi, Punjab and Haryana cricket association had formed similar companies," he added.
Three top officials of HPCA applied for the anticipatory bail in a special Dharamshala court, in the above mentioned case on Wednesday. Justice R K Sharma now called the parties on 7th  September to here the plea for anticipatory bail, as the vigilance bureau needed time to produce more documents said source .
