The NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers of Punjab Technical University (PTU) started off a motorbike rally from Jalandhar to Khardung-la Paas at Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night.
Kapurthala/Jalandhar, June 20, 2013: The NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers of Punjab Technical University (PTU) started off a motorbike rally from Jalandhar to Khardung-la Paas at Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night.
The motive of the rally is to spread the teachings of Swami Vivekanand ji among the youth and to inspire them. 14 students and 3 faculty members of PTU affiliated colleges are a part of this rally.
The members of this rally are from Rayat and Bahra Institute of Technology Railmajra, SUS Tangori, RIMT Mandi Gobindgarh, Continental Group of Institute Jalwera (Rajpura), Baba Hira Singh Bhattal Institute Lehragaga (Sangrur), CIC Landran, Kings College Barnala and Akal College of Pharmacy Mastuana Sahib.
Assistant Sports Director S.S. Randhawa gave a flag off to this rally from Puda Complex ground Jalandhar on the night of 19th June. With the rally team members, Faculty Coordinator NSS Dr. Jagmeet Bawa was also present. He told that during the whole rally Medical Faculty Dr. Gagandeep Singh will also be accompanying with a medical kit in safari. He also said that the rally members will also distribute the printed material related to the life of Swami Vivekanand in the schools and colleges of Himachal, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
Lectures and seminars will also be organised. He also said that 15 days have been decided for this rally but because of weather conditions, the days can also be increased but the members will achieve their target for sure.
