Dharamsala, June 19, 2013: A Training on first aid was organized by Rotary Club Palampur & Interact club Chand Public school in collaboration with GVK EMRI at Chand Public School Palampur.
Twelve states are operating 108 National Ambulance service. Dr RK Sood District AIDS Programme Officer, Kangra , emphasized about the importance of golden hour. Manoj Kanwar, President, Rotary club told that phone number 108 as well as the service is toll free, and we should avail the facilities.
Key aims of first aid can be summarized in three key points- Preserve life, Prevent further harm and Promote recovery: Emergency management Executive Ishan Rana explained about the advance life support ambulance with defibrillator for heart attack, and other equipment was displayed and EMT Vishal explained about cardio pulmonary resuscitation
This is a free service delivered through state- of -art emergency call response centers and has over 4785 ambulances across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and 2 Union Territories Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. With a vision is to respond to 30 million emergencies and save 1 million lives annually.
In HP 2,61,465 patients have been served by timely first aid and transportation to health facility since inception, including 52,074 Pregnant women, 35,354 trauma/accident, 2,466 poisoning and 12,656 cardiac cases by the National Ambulance Service in the state.
