Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, presiding over a review meeting held at Doraha (Ludhiana) regarding the overall development of Payal Constituency.
Doraha (Ludhiana), June 5, 2013: The Punjab Government has chalk out Rs. 70 crore comprehensive plan for the development of Payal Constituency in Ludhiana District.
This was disclosed by Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, while presiding over a review meeting held here regarding the overall development of Payal Constituency. Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Rahul Tiwari along with other senior district officers were present in the meeting.
Atwal directed the officers to expedite the pace of the ongoing development works at various villages and towns. He also asked them to ensure the timely completion of the entire project in the larger interest of the public. He informed in the meeting that Rs 21.30 crore would be spent over the works in Malod, Doraha and Payal towns to create best civic amenities like provision of potable water and sewerage facilities, whereas Rs 20.27 crore would be spent to install Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) in the towns. Atwal said that of 272 kms link roads of the villages would also be repaired, at a cost of Rs. 26 crore.
Atwal further said that Rs. 12 crore would be spent under the MANREGA scheme to provide job opportunities to the poor for the works like cleaning of ponds, to dig up pits for planting sapling at various public places, cleaning of drains and road repair works etc.
Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Tiwari ensured the Speaker that the development works in Payal Constituency would be completed in the stipulated period.
Santa Singh Umedpuri District President SAD (Rural), Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal Ex- MLA, Devi Parshad District BJP Vice President, Dr. Rishi Pal Singh ADC (D) were also present in the meeting.
