Amritsar, May 17, 2013: Harsimran Kaur from SGAD Govt. College, Tarn Taran was adjudged the Best Camper while Nishchal Kumari from SSM College Dina Nagar was second best Camper.
Bebe Nanaki Khalsa College Dhariwal was adjuded best discipline team while SRSPM, GNDU College, Niari was declared second best discipline team in this camp which was concluded recently at the University Students Holiday Home, Dalhousie.
This 7-day camp was organised by the Department of Youth Welfare of the Guru Nanak Dev University. As many as 85 girls from 10 various affiliated participated.
Inderjit Singh, Registrar presided over the valedictory function.
Surinder Kaur was the guest of honour on this occasion.
Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare welcomed the chief guest and others. She also detailed about the activities of the camp. Chief guest also gave away the prizes to the winners.
During the camp, Eminent Scholars, Vijay Sharma, Agriculturist, Nirmal Singh Jorha and Hardial Singh Aman delivered their lectures on the social evils prevailing in our society and about the attitude and habits.
Jagjit Kaur said that during this camp, the campers were taken to Panchpula, Kala Top, Dain Kund, Khajjiar and Dalhousie for sightseeing and trekking. She said that competition event including extempore, debate, folk song, poetical recitation and dancing were organised during this camp. She said that every day yoga classes were also organized for the campers.
